Alpha Home Appliances — a rebuild that protected three decades of reputation
A complete rebuild of a long-established Sydney appliance specialist's website — re-engineered for speed, credibility, and search, without losing the ranking and trust the business had spent years earning.

A trusted business behind a dated website
Alpha Home Appliances has repaired, installed, and replaced home appliances across Sydney for more than thirty years — dishwashers, ovens, cooktops, washing machines, dryers, and range hoods, for homeowners, renters, strata, and property managers. The business was in good shape. The website wasn't.
Their marketing had moved on while the site stood still. Modern outreach campaigns sent polished, credible emails — and the links in those emails landed on a site that looked a decade behind. That mismatch is expensive in a way that doesn't show up on a single report: a recipient who trusts the email arrives somewhere that undercuts it, and the credibility built up over the click quietly evaporates before they ever pick up the phone.
The second problem was slower and harder to see. The old site didn't meet Google's Core Web Vitals thresholds, and competitors with faster, more modern sites were edging ahead on the same Sydney suburbs and the same services — not because they had more authority, but because they were technically healthier. Two pressures, one root cause: the website no longer represented the business standing behind it.
A modern site that keeps the equity
We rebuilt the site on the same domain, so every signal it had earned over the years carried forward instead of being thrown away. The brief was specific: faster than the competition, credible at first glance, and at least as findable as before — ideally more. The build runs on Astro with a CSS-first Tailwind setup: static-first, almost no JavaScript shipped by default, which is exactly what moves the Core Web Vitals numbers. Pages render quickly on a phone on mobile data, which is where most appliance enquiries actually begin.
The structure leads with the business's real strengths — thirty-plus years, most repairs completed on the first visit, genuine manufacturer parts. Each appliance type has its own service detail so the site is recognised for the specific things people search, and a live coverage map lets a visitor confirm their suburb is serviced in seconds rather than scanning a list. Online quote capture routes enquiries straight through to the business, with no third-party booking widget sitting in the way.
Astro + Tailwind
Static-first build with minimal JavaScript — the architecture behind the fast mobile loads.
Core Web Vitals
Engineered to pass Google’s performance thresholds, where the old site fell short.
Service-area coverage map
A live Mapbox map so visitors confirm their suburb is serviced in seconds.
Online quote capture
Enquiries captured through a serverless form and routed straight to the business.
Per-appliance pages
Dedicated service detail for each appliance type, ranking for specific searches.
SEO-preserving cutover
Preserved URLs, redirects, and rich structured data to carry ranking across.
Through the risky part
The cutover is where rebuilds usually lose ground: change the underlying site and search ranking can fall away if the migration isn't handled carefully. Here it was planned so the new site went live without surrendering the search equity the old one held — URLs preserved, redirects mapped, structured data in place from day one.
Content stays editable in plain Markdown, so the business can update its own copy without a CMS subscription or a developer in the loop for every word. The site runs on edge hosting for fast loads across Sydney, and enquiries flow through a lightweight serverless function rather than a heavy third-party form platform.
Live, fast, and representing the business
Alpha Home Appliances is live at alphahomeappliances.com.au — modern, fast, and finally representing the business the way it actually operates. It remains an active engagement: as Google reassesses the site's technical health and the new structure settles, we keep tuning it.
If you run a business whose website has fallen behind what you do — too slow, too dated, or quietly slipping in search — the rebuild that fixes it without starting your reputation from zero is the conversation worth having.
