The problem

A toolchain stitched together with tape

Most Australian trades businesses run their operations across a stitched-together toolchain. Quotes drafted in Word, Excel, or a free template site. Jobs tracked in a notebook, a group chat, or a scheduling app that doesn't talk to anything else. Invoices sent through Xero or MYOB. Payments chased through text messages. Profit margins calculated, if at all, at the end of the quarter when it's too late to act on.

Off-the-shelf trades software tends to solve one slice of this well and integrate poorly with the rest, or solve all of it generically and feel like enterprise CRM forced onto a tradie's phone. Either way, the gap shows up where it hurts most: in the hours owners spend after-work on admin, and in jobs that lose money because nobody saw the margin shrink in real time.

What we built

The job lifecycle on one platform

TradieTally brings the moments that matter — quote, job, invoice, payment, margin — onto a single platform built specifically for Australian trades. Quoted jobs flow forward into trackable work. Completed work becomes invoices. Invoices and payments sync to Xero. Card payments run through Stripe. And alongside all of it, live profit analytics show the margin on each job as costs are booked, not after the books close.

  • Quoting

Structured quoting that customers can review and accept.

  • Job tracking

Quoted work rolls forward into trackable jobs with their own status and costs.

  • Invoicing

Invoices generated from completed jobs and pushed to Xero.

  • Live profit analytics

Margin on each job is visible as costs are booked, not at end of quarter.

  • Xero integration

Two-way sync with the Australian SMB accounting standard.

  • Stripe payments

Card payments handled end-to-end, surcharges and reconciliation included.

How we built it

From discovery to production

The work spanned discovery, planning, architecture, the build, the integrations, and ongoing support — across both the customer-facing platform and the financial plumbing behind it. The Xero two-way sync keeps invoices and payments in alignment, and the Stripe handling processes card transactions cleanly.

It came together in increments with regular demos rather than a big-bang launch, so what shipped matched how the business actually runs day to day.
